Eternal Sunshine
of the Spotless

Through creating this movie poster I wanted to incorporate and exaggerate the impact that technology has in “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” Throughout the film, we see a romantic relationship between the two main characters, Joel and Clementine, flourish and unravel tragically and emotionally. Since technology had such an impact on their romantic relationship along with others shown in the film, I saw fit to create an organic heart in an industrial fashion.

The wire heart was constructed by hand and then photographed. While building the heart I faced some challenges with stripping wires and gluing everything in the exact placement I was striving for. I overcame this by making multiple versions and learning what wires would agree with my design. After completing the heart I wanted it to be contrasted in the composition with a soft and romantic treatment of the type and background.
